The streets in the Alfama district are narrow and possess a lot of character. The street plan in this area is one of the few aspects of Lisbon to have survived the 1755 earthquake. We couldn't help but notice the abundance of Potuguese flags hanging from the balconies.

The Castelo de São Jorge is the highest point in town. The terrace view offers a splendid view of the city, specially in the morning hours when the sun is positioned behind the castle.
